HYDROLATS

Tree-Harvest hydrolats are 100% natural and contain no additives, colours or preservatives. True hydrolats are a by-product of the manufacturing process of essential oils. Waters are collected when the plants are steam-distilled to gather essential oils. Their therapeutic properties and aroma are similar but not identical to the essential oils from which they are derived. Although they contain tiny amounts of essential oil, the water passes through the plant material many times, becoming laden with many water soluble elements from the plant, that are not found in the essential oil itself. Hydrolats are therefore powerful therapeutic agents in their own right. Hydrolats are widely used for natural, therapeutic skincare. They are ideal for gentle cleansing and toning and for blending with creams, lotions, aloe vera and clay.

Pure natural hydrolats should be stored away from heat sources and bright light to maximise their shelf life.
 Please note, these products are "hydrolats" not floral waters. A "floral water" is typically aromatic water made with the use of essential oils dissolved in water, a process which normally involves a  solubiliser/dispersant.
 
Hydrolats have a delicate nature and a light aroma.  They are ideal for gentle aromatic care, especially for children, the elderly, or the highly sensitive. They do not require dilution and can be applied directly to the skin. Possible uses:
  • Hydrating and moisturising the skin
  • Soothe sunburn, cooling the skin
  • Cleansing and toning for alll skin types
  • Blending withh creams, lotions, aloe vera and clay
  • Mist house plants
  • Make soothing eye pads
  • Make "wet wipes" for hands, faces etc (moisten a tissue)
